Warning signs of sponsorship fraud
- •They ask you to pay for a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS). In the UK employers must not charge you for this.
- •They only talk on WhatsApp, Telegram or social media and have no real office or company website.
- •They use a Gmail, Yahoo or Outlook email instead of a company email.
- •The job offer arrives with no proper interview.
- •They pressure you to pay quickly: "only 2 places left" or "pay today".
- •They ask you to pay into a personal bank account or with crypto or gift cards.
- •They promise a "guaranteed visa". Nobody can guarantee a visa decision.
- •The company is not on the official sponsor register, or its name or town doesn't match.
